ABOUT ME
SUPRIYA PERERA
CONSERVATION + UX DESIGN
BASED IN MELBOURNE
My passion is uncovering human (and non-human) pain-points, co-designing process efficiencies and enhancing user experience through the effective implementation of technology or simple redesign.

My journey in UX started with learning it, teaching it, and practising it. I have applied UX design methods in many different areas and industries: Health, Supply Chain, Pharmaceuticals, Data, Insurance, Toys & Games, Conservation & Sustainability.

I believe in the power of stories and play. Play builds trust in teams and communities and the right story told in the right way can inspire unimaginable change.
PLAY
Playing at work keeps me functional when under stress, helps me see problems in new ways, triggers creativity and innovation, increases energy and prevents burnout. My play involves working with in a team to make something amazing happen, organising events at work not directly related to my job or even adventures outside of work:
Organise TEDxNaperville / Run PlayCHIC Fashion Show / Make 'Alice in Wonderland' hat /
Organise Innovation Pitch Day / Win Electric Vehicle Hackathon Canberra / Organise Google Startup Weekend / Present at UX Australia / Organise 'Race Around the Block' party / Produce 'Alien Channel' web series.
SOFTWARE
Miro / Adobe CC (XD, PhotoShop, Illustrator) / Figma / Invision / Axure / Jira / Sketch / WordPress /
Trello / Slack / MS Office (Visio) / Google Suite.
